Welcome to the Warrnambool Family History Group

Established in 1980, The Warrnambool Family History Group supports individuals in discovering and preserving their family history. We warmly welcome anyone curious about tracing their family , offering friendly guidance, support and research assistance. At our centre at HeritageWorks, we offer our members access to an extensive range of local resources, including a large library and computer facilities.

HeritageWorks provides a welcoming space for both research and connection with others who share an interest in genealogy.

The Warrnambool Family History Group shares the HeritageWorks Centre with the Warrnambool & District Historical Society. We are located at 2 Gilles Street Warrnambool just behind Mozart Hall. This can be accessed via the wire gate between History House and Mozart Hall.

Opening Hours:

As of July 2026 HeritageWorks is open:

Tuesdays 10am - 3pm

Wednesdays 10am - 3pm

Thursdays 12pm - 3pm

Fridays 10am - 3pm

Saturday 10am -12pm (last Saturday of each month only)

Our volunteers are in attendance on Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Saturday.  The Warrnambool & District Historical Society volunteers are on duty Thursday & Friday. Other times by appointment.
